Lot 201 was first introduced in the 1890s as an accessible alternative to the iconic 501\u00ae (also known as No. 2), designed to cater to workers seeking high-quality denim on a budget. While Lot 201 carried over several of the innovative designs of the 501\u00ae, it featured a fabric Double Horse tag in place of the classic leather patch to reduce production costs. As the 501\u00ae successfully entered the global market post-World War II, Lot 201 gradually faded from the scene.
