This 224-page work marks the first officially authorized history of the Datejust, focusing on the origins of the iconic date window positioned at 3 o’clock.<\/p>

Veteran watch historian Nicholas Foulkes paints a vivid picture as he details the birth of the Datejust in 1945, which marked Rolex’s first waterproof and self-winding chronometer watch. He meticulously outlines each major milestone, from the mention by Hans Wilsdorf of All the crystals discovered to date., to the addition of the Cyclops lens in 1953, which brought a perfect element to the design.
