Breitling Superocean Rainbow, inspired by a 1960s Slow Motion model<\/h2>\n\n\n

The Superocean Slow Motion, introduced in the 1960s as diving became a popular sport, emphasized legibility and simplified nonessential functions, Breitling said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That original design featured bold minute markings, luminous baton hour indices and a unique paddle-shaped hand, traits the company said it has carried into the Superocean Rainbow series.<\/p>\n\n\n

Rainbow lume and modern legibility<\/h2>\n\n\n

The new Superocean Rainbow models coat the hour markers and hands in Super-LumiNova\u00ae, arranged in a seven-color gradient of yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple, red and orange, Breitling said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breitling said the rainbow treatment preserves strong daytime and low-light legibility while contrasting with the dial layout to create a look that differs from traditional dive watches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Limited runs, two white variants and one black<\/h2>\n\n\n

Breitling said it is launching three limited Superocean Rainbow references: two 42 mm and 36 mm white-dial versions with white ceramic unidirectional bezels and white Diver Pro rubber straps, each limited to 150 pieces<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those white models carry screw-down casebacks engraved with the words “ONE OF 150,” the company said. A third 42 mm reference uses an all-black finish, including a black dial, black ceramic bezel and black rubber strap, and is limited to 200 pieces<\/strong> with a caseback marked “ONE OF 200.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caliber, case specs and diving capability<\/h2>\n\n\n

All three Superocean Rainbow watches are powered by Breitling Caliber 17, an automatic movement with a bidirectional ball-bearing winding system that runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breitling said the movement offers about 38 hours of power reserve<\/strong> and is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute, commonly known as COSC. The watches display hours, minutes and seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 42 mm cases measure 42 millimeters across and 12.56 millimeters thick; the 36 mm case has a thickness of 12.21 millimeters, Breitling said. The company said the stainless steel cases feature domed sapphire crystals with double anti-reflective treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breitling said the Superocean Rainbow family is rated to 300 meters of water resistance<\/strong>, and includes a screw-down crown and a unidirectional ceramic bezel suited for diving and water sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breitling said the strap is designed to stay secure whether worn over diving gear or as a daily sport watch, and that the collection links the brand’s Slow Motion heritage to a contemporary color-forward presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
