Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team (TGR-WRT) is set to launch its exhilarating new season in the World Rally Championship (WRC) by 2025. The season kicks off with the legendary Rallye Monte-Carlo—a name that resonates with high-paced thrill and precision driving, scheduled from January 23 to 26. As one of the most prestigious rally events in history, Rallye Monte-Carlo sets a high-adrenaline start for the season. Following this, the team will navigate through an intrepid lineup of 14 fresh and challenging rally locations, including the scenic Canary Islands, the rugged terrains of Paraguay, and the vast deserts of Saudi Arabia. Buckle up, because it sounds like the rally world is in for some pulse-racing adventures!

This year, the World Rally Championship (WRC) saw a major shake-up with its tire suppliers. The South Korean brand Hankook stepped onto the rally stage as the exclusive top-tier tire provider for the first time. This switch isn’t just about rubber hitting the dirt – it’s revving up changes in vehicle performance and bringing fresh challenges to the rule book. Particularly, it’s tweaking the points system, making the outcome of each race even more crucial to the team standings. Get ready for a season where every skid and slide could tip the scales.

It’s worth noting, as we jet into 2024, that WRC2 champ Sami Pajari is leveling up to the major leagues. He’s joining forces with the seasoned co-pilot Marko Salminen, competing under the banner of TGR-WRT2. This move is a game-changer for Pajari and a strategic play that could boost his team’s clout in the manufacturer’s championship stakes. Meanwhile, the young hotshot Oliver Solberg will be tearing up the tracks in the GR Yaris Rally2, gunning for the WRC2 crown. Both moves signal thrilling developments in the rally racing world, begging us to keep our eyes on the dirt road as these drivers push the pedal to the metal.

On the thrilling Sunday of the race, the track will revisit the two stages from Thursday, culminating in a challenging showdown on the Col de Turini mountain pass as the Power Stage finale, perfectly wrapping up the event.

As TGR-WRT races into the 2025 season, it’s not just a new chapter but a whole fresh vibe, packed with challenges and opportunities. Whether it’s revamping car designs, shaking up the driver roster, or switching up the racing rules, everything’s on the table. For Toyota, this move isn’t just about perfecting what’s there; it’s a fully-fledged promise for the future. Every tweak and breakthrough is a testament to the fact that rally racing isn’t just about speed; it’s a hardcore test of each team’s strategic prowess, endurance, and tech savvy.

This season’s World Rally Championship (WRC) has us totally buzzing with anticipation. When teams and drivers push their limits in extreme conditions, it’s not just a showcase of top-tier performance but a peek into the boundless potential of automotive technology. This isn’t just a race on the track—it’s an intellectual throwdown about the future of vehicles, sustainability, and tech innovation. Get ready, because this season is set to amaze us!
