Recently, Type 7 collaborated with Porsche Motorsport to release a large-format album titled Artifacts: Porsche Motorsport, which delves into the brand's racing achievements and the stories behind them through a unique artistic lens. This special edition album was curated and shot in Porsche's Flacht and Weissach restricted areas, featuring 550 pages that document over 250 precious collectibles from different eras.
This project is led by ERG Media, with creator Thomas Walk harnessing high-resolution photography to focus on the Raceborn textures of parts and the marks of time, exploring the innovative thinking behind them. Additionally, the book collaborates with the Porsche Corporate Archive, offering an in-depth narrative that includes interviews with legendary team leader Roger Penske and factory drivers Richard Lietz and Pascal Wehrlein.
In terms of design, the book is crafted by Andy Cruz from House Industries, featuring a deep red embossed cover that pays homage to 1960s file folders. This English hardcover edition weighs a hefty 7.7 kg and is priced at 350 euros (approximately 405 USD), undoubtedly offering motorsport culture enthusiasts a uniquely tactile collectible experience.
