The new BYD Seal 6, an all-electric midsize sedan just arrived at the port, is essentially the domestic Dynasty series model Qin L, but it’s exported under the name Seal 6, similar to how the Atto 2 corresponds to the domestic Yuan Up. Whether it’s the Dynasty series or the Ocean series, as long as there’s a right-hand drive option available for export and a willing distributor to bring it in, it’s definitely great news for car enthusiasts. So, I’m eagerly awaiting the export of the Seal 06 station wagon.

Regarding the newly arrived Seal 6 in Hong Kong, it, along with the current Seal EV, falls under the category of four-door sedans. However, there are some differences in size between the two models. The Seal 6 measures 4.72 meters in length, 1.88 meters in width, and 1.49 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.82 meters, making it slightly smaller than the Seal EV. Yet, its pricing is quite aggressive. The Essential entry-level version starts at just 158,000 HKD, while the Premium high-spec version is only 178,000 HKD. You can get a pure electric mid-sized sedan for under 160,000 HKD, which is indeed fantastic news for fans of this type of vehicle.

The Seal 6 features a 56.64 kWh blade battery and a rear single-motor layout, delivering an impressive 217 horsepower and a range of 485 kilometers. It rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds and supports rapid charging at a maximum of 150 kW, allowing you to charge from 30% to 80% in just half an hour—perfect for sipping on a coffee before continuing your journey. Inside, the layout meets the renowned BYD standards, with a central 15.6-inch screen that can be adjusted from horizontal to vertical, and a clearly readable 10.25-inch dashboard in front of the driver. However, what I appreciate most is the front trunk with a capacity of 65 liters; it not only features waterproof and odor-proof capabilities but can also fit a 20-inch suitcase, offering better cargo space than its rivals in the sedan class. As for the actual driving performance, stay tuned for my upcoming test drive report!
