Jeep recently unveiled the 2026 version of the Cherokee, a mid-sized SUV that not only carries the brand's rugged DNA but also integrates modern high-efficiency performance. The new vehicle made its debut in Brooklyn, New York, where it featured a live performance by the renowned artist LL COOL J, alongside the North American premiere of the 1.6L inline-four turbo hybrid powertrain developed in partnership with Stellantis.
This all-new powertrain delivers 210 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque, with an estimated fuel economy of 37 mpg, boasting a range exceeding 500 miles, making it the most fuel-efficient choice in its class. Bob Broderdorf, the CEO of the Jeep brand, stated: The 2026 edition of the Cherokee redefines the modern mid-size SUV — it boasts an impressive range of over 500 miles, impeccable safety features, and exceptional adventure capabilities, all powered by a turbocharged engine..
In addition to its high performance, the new generation of the Cherokee also offers a significantly more spacious trunk, enlarged by about 30%. It boasts the strongest towing capacity in its class, and the technological features inside the cabin are equally impressive. The entire lineup comes standard with a 12.3-inch infotainment display, featuring the Uconnect 5 system and supporting wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, along with over 140 safety features including Active Driving Assist.
In terms of design, the new Cherokee carries forward the classic boxy lines, featuring a taller and wider body along with square LED headlights. The interior embraces a commitment to sustainability, utilizing recycled materials and non-leather options. The base price for the all-new Jeep Cherokee starts at $36,995 and is expected to hit the market by the end of 2025, offering a range of premium models including the Laredo, Limited, and Overland.
