Recently, the Red Bull Racing Team held a grand launch event in Detroit, officially unveiling their brand new race car, the RB22. They also announced the establishment of their in-house engine division, Red Bull Ford Powertrains, in preparation for the upcoming 2026 Formula 1 season.
The location for this event has been chosen at the historically significant Michigan Central Station, coinciding perfectly with the strengthening relationship with their tech partner, Ford. The RB22's body paint has shifted from the previous matte finish to a striking gloss blue, paying homage to the iconic imagery from its debut in 2005, symbolizing the brand's resurgence and a retrospective on the past two decades.
At this press conference, the Red Bull Racing team revealed significant changes to their driver lineup. Four-time world champion Max Verstappen continues as the lead driver, alongside the rising French star Isack Hadjar. His impressive performance with the sister team, Racing Bulls, earned him a promotion, injecting fresh energy into the team as they prepare for the forthcoming technical rule changes. These new regulations will transform the power distribution in racing, achieving a balanced integration of electric and internal combustion engines.
It's worth noting that the preseason testing for the 2026 F1 season will kick off on January 26 in Barcelona, with the first race scheduled for March 8 in Melbourne. The fresh details of the new livery have fans buzzing with anticipation.
