Yutong recently introduced the all-new IC12E, a purely electric intercity bus designed specifically for the European market, at the UITP Summit. This bus highlights the company’s leading position in innovative technology, garnering significant attention for its outstanding range and powerful drive system.
The design of the IC12E fully meets the operational demands between cities, boasting features that support long-distance travel, high load capacity, and premium product quality. This bus recently underwent comprehensive testing in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, with routes covering Hamburg, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, and Oslo. Test data revealed that the IC12E consumed as little as 0.7 kWh of electricity per kilometer over a journey of 1,272 kilometers, showcasing the exceptional performance of its new energy technology.
During testing, the IC12E successfully completed a long-distance journey of 510 kilometers from Germany to Denmark, with its battery percentage dropping from 99% to 31%, still leaving 170 kilometers of range available. In terms of charging efficiency, the IC12E went from 13% to 99% charge in just 1 hour and 40 minutes using a single charging station. Additionally, it demonstrated over 20% climbing capability on continuous uphill routes in Norway, proving its impressive power performance.
Another model, the Yutong U12 bus, is specifically designed for urban trunk routes. This award-winning electric bus, which has received the Busworld Design Award, measures 12 meters in length and can accommodate up to 95 passengers. Constructed from high-strength steel, it features a unique YESS battery safety protection system, ensuring that safety and comfort meet high standards.
