Mastercard has recently announced a partnership with Citi, collaborating with five top local dining and hotel groups—1957 & Co., Shangri-La at the Island, LUBUDS Group, The Royal Garden Hong Kong, and The Food Story. This collaboration introduces National Day Fireworks Feast Experience for Citi Mastercard cardholders, allowing customers to prioritize reservations for the best viewing spots at 13 waterfront restaurants across the city. Enjoy a spectacular fireworks display paired with upscale dining on National Day, October 1st.
The event officially kicks off on August 25, with priority reservations structured in two phases. The first phase runs until August 27, exclusively for Citi ULTIMA cardholders, Citigold Private Clients, and Citigold customers, who can secure their spots through the dedicated priceless™ platform. The second phase, from August 28 to September 10, opens up to all eligible Citi Mastercard holders. Seating is limited at each restaurant and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mastercard’s local research indicates that high-income users value experiential spending more than standard cardholders, with a focus on cultural activities, gourmet food, and art experiences that’s more than double. This collaboration perfectly responds to market demand by blending dining with festive culture, fulfilling customers’ desire for unique experiences.
Thirteen participating restaurants offer a diverse range featuring Chinese cuisine, Western dishes, Japanese izakaya, and French fare. Highlights include Kuan Ba Izakaya, famous for its stunning 270-degree sea view and operated by 1957 & Co., Porcini Restaurant at the Island Shangri-La, PANO located in the West Kowloon Cultural District by LUBUDS Group, and top dining options like Regal Court and NOBU Hong Kong within the Hong Kong Regal Hotel, as well as popular spots under The Food Story such as Rishan, Xing·Jiang Shao, and Yamamoto House.

Major groups have indicated that this collaboration not only boosts the visibility of restaurants but also injects fresh energy into the industry. Chan Yih-fong, Managing Director of Mastercard Hong Kong and Macau, mentioned that today’s consumers place greater importance on shared experiences with friends and family. She hopes this partnership will elevate these priceless experiences to a new level, injecting vitality into the local industry. Meanwhile, Citi pointed out that dining has always been one of the largest spending categories for their high-end clients, and this collaboration responds to the rising trend of demand for high-quality dining.
During the event period, all Citi Mastercard holders who complete eligible transactions will automatically enter Mastercard’s monthly and quarterly prize draws, with a grand prize of up to HKD 388,888 in spending credits—no prior registration needed. In addition to enjoying a fireworks feast, winners will enhance their overall experience value through their transactions.
The entire plan not only offers exclusive privileges to cardholders but also serves as a significant support for Hong Kong’s dining and tourism industries. By merging cultural events with business collaboration, it injects positive energy into economic recovery and enhances the city’s image.
