Apple has recently launched a brand new MagSafe Battery designed specifically for the iPhone Air. This product not only allows for wireless charging of the iPhone Air, but also features a USB-C port that provides charging capabilities for smaller devices like AirPods cases. This new functionality significantly enhances its practicality, successfully breaking free from the limitations of the previous MagSafe battery, which could only charge the iPhone.
According to Apple’s official product page, the USB-C port on the iPhone Air MagSafe Battery is specifically designed for Charging smaller accessories, allowing users a wider range of charging options, including AirPods charging cases, Apple Watches, and other small devices that support USB Power Delivery, with a power output of up to 4.5W. This means as long as the iPhone Air MagSafe Battery has enough charge, users can conveniently power their small accessories by connecting the battery pack with a USB-C cable—even small USB-powered fans can get charged.
The older MagSafe Battery Pack only uses a Lightning port and can’t charge accessories like AirPods. With the new iPhone Air MagSafe Battery featuring a USB-C port, its charging capabilities have been significantly improved.
This MagSafe Battery is designed specifically for the iPhone Air with a sleek thickness of just 5.6mm, priced at $99 (approximately HKD 772). Given the ultra-slim profile of the iPhone Air, its built-in battery capacity is relatively modest. Thus, Apple has introduced this efficient MagSafe Battery aimed at extending the device’s usage time.
This battery pack can provide up to 65% extra power for the iPhone Air and supports wireless fast charging at a maximum of 12W. When paired with a 20W or higher power charger, it can simultaneously fast charge both the iPhone Air and the battery pack.
