To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Apple Music has launched an incredibly creative and ambitious plan: to establish a three-story recording studio covering 15,000 square feet in Los Angeles, set to officially open this summer. This high-end facility demonstrates Apple's deep commitment to artists and creativity, reshaping the way music is created and shared.
This recording studio in Los Angeles is not just a conventional space for recording; it’s a fully-fledged creative ecosystem tailored for the modern music industry. Featuring two state-of-the-art broadcast studios equipped with a Spatial Audio playback system, it can easily adapt to various needs, including live interviews, casual chats, and impromptu performances. The facility also boasts a massive 4,000 square foot studio, perfect for live performances, multi-camera shoots, fan interactions, and screening capabilities, creating endless possibilities for engagement between artists and audiences. Additionally, there’s a dedicated Spatial Audio mixing room with a 9.2.4 PMC speaker system, ensuring a top-notch production experience, along with specialized labs for photography and social media, as well as editing rooms and private soundproof booths for songwriting and podcast recording.
Rachel Newman, the co-head of Apple Music, stated that the vision for this new recording studio is to create a space where artists can compose, connect, and share. Located in the heart of Los Angeles, this facility will serve as the flagship of Apple Music's global network of creative spaces, complementing existing facilities in New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, and Nashville, with plans to expand to other cities in the future. This initiative not only strengthens Apple Music's position in the fiercely competitive streaming market but also sets a new benchmark for how tech companies can fully support the creative infrastructure of the music industry.
