DJI has just dropped the game-changing Dock 3 drone platform, revolutionizing traditional operations with its innovative capability to launch drones from moving vehicles, significantly boosting automation. The Dock 3 comes with weather-resistant features that are waterproof and dustproof, designed specifically for the new Matrice 4D and Matrice 4TD drones. It operates seamlessly even under extreme weather conditions, making it perfect for tasks like power facility inspections and emergency rescues, providing businesses with flexible solutions.
Introducing the Dock 3, DJI’s third-generation “Drone Automated Box” system. This compact design fits seamlessly into the back of a truck and allows for quick drone launches from a moving state. Equipped with a built-in weather station, camera, and backup battery, plus support for 4G network upgrades, it packs a powerful punch. The operational range reaches up to 25 kilometers (with fixed deployment) and can function in temperatures ranging from -30 to 50 degrees Celsius.
The Matrice 4D and 4TD are the star products of this series, designed for harsh environments with flight times of up to 47 minutes and ice-resistant propellers, supporting a variety of advanced photography modes. Notably, the Matrice 4TD is equipped with an infrared camera, significantly enhancing its capabilities for nighttime operations, catering to a diverse range of industrial and emergency application needs.
Dock 3 is positioned in the market specifically for enterprise customers, bundled with Matrice 4D and Matrice 4TD, priced at $21,059 and $23,409 respectively (installation and upgrade costs are additional). While the exact prices for the mobile launch device have not yet been announced, this groundbreaking technology is expected to set a new standard in the drone market.
In the future, the application of Dock 3 in places like Hong Kong still depends on local regulatory support. However, its flexibility and efficiency undoubtedly open up more possibilities for the use of drones across various fields.
