Recently, Fujifilm officially launched the highly anticipated instax mini Evo Cinema, a groundbreaking hybrid camera that will debut in Japan on January 30. This innovative device is set to redefine the boundaries between traditional photography and dynamic imagery. Its brand-new recording features, combined with instant photo capabilities, allow users to transfer digital video data onto physical photos via generated QR codes.
The highlight of this camera is its creative center Eras Dial, allowing users to effortlessly switch between 10 different retro filter effects, including the grainy 8mm look from the 60s and the CRT screen texture of the 70s. Each filter comes with a unique soundtrack, fully immersing users in a multi-sensory experience that feels like a journey through time. Every effect features ten finely-tuned levels, offering a total of 100 creative combinations, all controlled by a tactile physical dial that clicks pleasingly with an analog sound.
When it comes to design, the instax mini Evo Cinema encapsulates the essence of Fujifilm's history. Its black and gray body is inspired by the 1965 FUJICA Single-8, featuring a portable, straight-hold shape and equipped with a printing lever that simulates the tactile experience of manual film winding, Print Lever. Beyond its standalone shooting capabilities, the camera doubles as a smartphone-exclusive printer and a 3-in-1 creative tool. The dedicated app supports cinematic-style editing and offers templates reminiscent of movie title and credit sequences, ensuring that every shared moment exudes a cinematic polish.
