Honor officially showcased the Honor Robot Phone at MWC 2026. This concept device, featuring a 200-megapixel gimbal camera, is seen as a groundbreaking smartphone specifically designed for content creators. It’s expected to be commercially launched in the Chinese market in the second half of 2026.

Pocket GimbalConcept Realized
The core selling point of the Honor Robot Phone lies in its groundbreaking design, which integrates the industry’s smallest 4DoF (four degrees of freedom) gimbal system directly into the phone’s body, achieving a revolutionary look with Camera Island can move.. According to data, Honor has specially developed a miniaturized motor that is 70% smaller, driving this precise mechanical arm to perform actions like nodding, tilting, and rotating. Crafted from high-strength materials rated at 2800MPa, it guarantees durability with a simulation accuracy of 0.001mm. When not in use, the entire mechanical arm can be neatly tucked away inside the camera island on the back, making it convenient for everyday carry.

It’s worth noting that Honor has drawn inspiration from its own foldable phone hinge engineering technology, miniaturizing it and repurposing it as an artificial joint, enabling the entire module to operate within a limited chassis thickness. This structural concept is akin to the four-axis system used in cinema-quality cameras like the DJI Ronin 4D, but the engineers have compressed it to fit into a pocket-sized design. Additionally, Honor has teamed up with the renowned German professional film equipment brand ARRI to infuse the imaging system of the Robot Phone with cinematic-grade color science.

200 million pixel primary lens with AI automatic shooting
The Honor Robot Phone features a main camera with a stunning 200-megapixel sensor, paired with AI object tracking capabilities that allow the camera to instantly lock onto and follow moving subjects without any need for manual adjustments. The AI SpinShot function takes it a step further, supporting smart rotations of 90° and 180°, ensuring that even one-handed shooting can achieve cinematic transitions. According to reports, the robotic arm can even synchronize with musical beats, transforming the camera module into an interactive creative accessory.

In a video call scenario, the robotic lens actively tracks the user’s face and body movements, working in harmony with AI facial recognition to automatically adjust the shooting angle, ensuring that the user remains in focus within the frame. The robotic arm also supports expressive movements like nodding and shaking, giving the phone a more human-like presence during interactions. This system, referred to as AI Multimodal Brain by Honor, integrates voice recognition, dynamic tracking, and visual perception capabilities.
Super Stable Video Mode and Its Application Scenarios for Creators
The Honor Robot Phone’s three-axis gimbal stabilization system reportedly ensures smooth and steady footage even in high-speed moving scenarios. For content creators, this means that Vlogging, selfie tracking, and desktop streaming can now be achieved without the need for external stabilizers or gimbal accessories, delivering results that previously required an entire setup of separate equipment. The Super Steady Video mode has been further optimized to meet the demands of shooting in highly dynamic environments.

In the conceptual stage, there are still variables in mass production.
Honor has confirmed that the Robot Phone will first be commercialized in China in the second half of 2026, but currently, the pricing, global release plans, and timeline for its launch in Hong Kong are all 【pending confirmation】. CNBC noted that the pricing is expected to be at a premium flagship level, competing directly with Samsung and Apple. The long-term durability of the robotic arm, waterproof specifications, and drop performance have not yet been officially disclosed, making them crucial indicators for consumers to observe before making a purchase.
