Recently, Adult Swim has teamed up with Cowboy Bebop director Shinichirō Watanabe to launch a brand new animated project titled Lazarus, and they’ve officially released an exciting new trailer.
“Lazarus” is produced by the highly acclaimed animation studio MAPPA, with action direction by the renowned Chad Stahleski, director of the famous “John Wick” series. This work is positioned as a sci-fi thriller action piece. The visuals in the latest trailer are fluid and captivating, perfectly showcasing Shinichiro Watanabe’s unique sci-fi jazz atmosphere.
Set in the year 2052, the story paints a picture of a thriving future society. Dr. Skinner, a Nobel Prize-winning neuroscientist, successfully developed a drug called Hapuna, claiming it could cure various diseases, quickly gaining public acceptance. However, at this moment, Dr. Skinner mysteriously disappears. Three years later, he re-emerges with shocking news — those who used Hapuna will die within three years, bringing an unprecedented crisis to humanity. To confront Dr. Skinner and develop a vaccine to save humanity, a special five-member team called “Lazarus” is formed.
The series is set to officially premiere soon, featuring a total of 13 episodes, packed with enticing highlights that are definitely worth looking forward to.
The main voice cast includes Mamoru Miyano, Makoto Furukawa, Maaya Uchida, Yuma Uchida, Minako Iwami, Megumi Hayashibara, Akio Otsuka, and Koichi Yamadera.
