The 7th “Unlimited Brightness” project will grandly debut on March 1, 2025, presented in collaboration with the Hong Kong Arts Festival and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Kicking off the concert series is “Jazz Express,” featuring an amazing performance by American young music prodigy Matthew Whitaker for the first time. This time, Whitaker will collaborate with four top musicians, using piano and organ as the main focus, to interpret various musical styles, combining elements of jazz, soul, and gospel, delivering an incredibly creative and energetic musical journey to the audience.

Whitaker’s musical talent knows no bounds. His performance style is infused with passion and improvisation. This concert will not only reimagine several classic jazz pieces but will also incorporate his original works, conveying emotion and energy through every note to each audience member. Whitaker is also eagerly anticipating his first performance in Hong Kong, expressing his excitement about bringing his music to this vibrant and artistic city, and he is equally thrilled and curious about Hong Kong’s cuisine and culture. He emphasizes the desire to build a deep connection with the audience through music, and to interact and share with the local music scene, artists, and fans.
The opening concert will feature two distinctly different performances, offering Hong Kong’s music lovers a more comprehensive experience of Whitaker’s unique musical charm. This performance of “Jazz Express” is not just a concert; it’s a feast for the soul and the senses. Whether it’s understanding the music or experiencing the spirit of jazz, it promises to be an unforgettable experience.

The “Infinite Light” program is driven by the mission to promote artistic inclusivity, dedicated to creating an accessible cultural environment while emphasizing the social function of art to foster community acceptance and understanding. This year’s “Infinite Light” event revolves around the theme of “Understanding is Not as Good as Feeling” and will feature 12 live and online programs, showcasing a variety of performance forms including music, dance, and theater. In addition to the opening performance by Whitaker, audiences can look forward to the Asian premiere of a dance piece, interactive performances by visually impaired groups, and several documentaries and films focusing on inclusivity and emotional therapy, all of which will unfold in due time.
“Infinite Shine” isn’t just about live performances; it also offers a free audiovisual experience to global audiences through online shows. All tickets for the live performances are now available for purchase on the city’s ticketing platform URBTIX, while the online shows will be launched from March 24, 2025, allowing viewers to watch freely without registration.
