Norland (Norland), the highly acclaimed rebellious aristocratic colony simulation game developed by Long Jaunt, is set to roll out a massive update, Summer Update, in the near future, further enhancing the game's depth and enjoyment. If you haven't tried this game yet, now is the perfect time to dive in.
Set in a fictional medieval Europe, Norland tells a tumultuous tale of small kingdoms vying for power after the fragmentation of an empire. Players must lead their noble factions, overcoming numerous challenges, to develop their kingdoms and stride towards prosperity.
The allure of the game lies in its rich character interactions, featuring bold adventures, treacherous betrayals, and dark conspiracies, along with armies dispatched by lords, pushing every family to go to great lengths in their pursuit of power and wealth. Meanwhile, the impoverished farmers find themselves grappling with the harsh reality of famine, while the noble families indulge in pleasure on the brink of decline. Adding to this, external kingdoms are plotting invasions, creating challenges for players that are filled with both internal strife and external threats.
Summer Update will be divided into two parts, with the first part being released on a certain date, followed closely by the second part. The first part will introduce a brand new political and economic system, allowing lords to have their own currency and interact directly with the economy. Quests and rewards will be settled through currency as well. Players can use this currency to purchase items like rings, and some items’ functionalities will change as well. In addition, lords lacking loyalty may transform into politicians, attempting to gain greater influence through other characters, while rival lords will target chairpersons for bribery.
The second part focuses on updating the architectural systems, where the originally designated buildings will be replaced by versatile structures. The newly added market and tavern squares enhance the medieval vibe of the game. At the same time, the comfort of houses will vary based on the influence of nearby buildings, encouraging players to plan urban layouts in a more thoughtful and logical manner.
Additionally, this update includes several other improvements, such as user interface optimization. Long Jaunt recently unveiled its update roadmap for the next six months, outlining upcoming features and plans, and building excitement for the final version.
Norland is currently in the early access phase, supporting PC Steam and offering a Traditional Chinese interface, creating a more immersive gaming experience.
