The sheer number of open-world survival crafting games is astonishing, with most offering support for four-player co-op. However, the newly launched Under a Rock takes things up a notch by accommodating up to ten players, making the gaming experience even more vibrant. But the question remains… where on earth can you find nine friends to join you in this adventure?
Under a Rock is a game meticulously developed by the independent studio Nordic Trolls, presented from a third-person perspective. Set in the early 19th century, you'll take on the role of an explorer trapped on a mysterious island. This isolated island features unique creatures and an ecosystem that has evolved completely differently from the outside world, challenging your survival skills in a harsh environment.
The game world is randomly generated, allowing players to explore vast landscapes, dark caves, and even underwater adventure scenes. Each setting is filled with unique challenges and a variety of resources. Like most survival crafting games, Under a Rock incorporates elements such as resource gathering, farming, cooking, base building, and combat. In addition, players can tame, breed, and ride wild animals. Rumor has it that the game offers a wealth of construction system options, leaving players eager to discover just how many possibilities await.
Currently, Under a Rock has no specific release date, but it will debut as an early access title. The corresponding platforms include PC Steam and Epic Games Store, with plans to release versions for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 in the future, allowing more players to enjoy this unique survival adventure.
