The sequel news has generated widespread attention, as it has been twenty years since the original film. Following the earlier announcement of returning cast members Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci have now also officially confirmed their return.
20th Century Studios recently revealed through social media that the sequel has officially begun filming. In the social media posts, both Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci make an appearance. While the official plot details have not been fully disclosed, reports suggest that the main storyline will focus on Emily Charlton, played by Blunt, and Miranda Priestly, portrayed by Streep. The story will explore Emily’s journey after leaving Catwalk, as she rises to a senior position within a luxury brand group, managing the advertising budget and facing the challenges of her new role.
As for Andy Sachs, played by Hathaway, she has moved on to a news organization, while it’s still unclear if Tucci’s Nigel Kipling remains at Catwalk. Notably, the director David Frankel, screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, and producer Karen Rosenfelt, along with the entire behind-the-scenes team, will also be returning, ensuring strong support for the production of the sequel.
