WNBA superstar Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty, hailed as the “female version of Curry,” will be visiting Hong Kong for the first time next month to participate in an event hosted by Nike. As the first overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft and a three-time All-Star, Sabrina’s arrival is sure to bring immense excitement and anticipation to basketball fans in Hong Kong.

This female basketball superstar, who’s becoming comparable to Stephen Curry on the court, has set multiple league records in recent years. Last year, she led the New York Liberty to victory in the WNBA Championship and proudly represented the U.S. women’s basketball team to win gold at the Paris Olympics. On this Asia tour, Sabrina will visit Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and Guangzhou, and she’s set to step foot in Hong Kong on March 16, where she’ll engage with local young basketball players and students.
Sabrina said, “I’m really looking forward to meeting the young basketball players in Manila, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, especially to directly interact with these passionate young people about the sport. Even from New York, I can feel their enthusiasm for basketball. We will celebrate the game together, hoping to inspire each other to work hard and achieve our dreams.”

In addition to interacting with local basketball players, Sabrina’s itinerary in Hong Kong also included visits to local schools, where she shared her basketball experiences with students and discussed how to break through personal limits and pursue dreams in sports and life. This tour not only provided Sabrina with an opportunity to inspire young players in Asia but also allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of Hong Kong’s basketball culture.
Sabrina Ionescu’s first visit to Hong Kong will be more than just a basketball-related event; it will be an inspiring journey filled with positive energy, encouraging young people to boldly pursue their dreams and achieve their goals through hard work and commitment.
