The Danish design brand &Tradition has recently partnered with Copenhagen Design Hotels to renovate a historic building designed by architect Kay Fisker in the 1940s, transforming it into a brand new design hotel in Copenhagen Petra. Nestled near King’s Garden, the hotel features meticulously restored terrazzo floors and brass accents, expertly paired with &Tradition's furniture and bold neutral tones to create a unique visual aspect that blends the old with the new.
Guests can enter the lobby through the entrance at Dronningens Tvaergade, where the space continues the design language of &Tradition, combining bold color blocks with classic neutral tones. Inside the lobby, there’s a vibrant blue bookshelf designed by Jaime Hayon, adding energy to the cozy retreat area, while the walls showcase dynamic artworks that change regularly. On the same floor, Petra Bar & Restaurant is dedicated to creating a Familiar yet unrestrained. atmosphere for guests and locals, fostering an exchange between international travelers and the community, helping everyone to rediscover the rhythm of life while enjoying their experience.
Petra Hotel features 40 uniquely styled rooms, with a team that customizes cabinetry and furniture based on varied dimensions, while the bed frames are specially designed by OEO Studio. The visual signage system and in-room stationery design are handled by the long-term collaborative graphic design unit, All The Way To Paris, aiming to fully maintain the brand identity. Petra has recently conducted a soft launch during the 3daysofdesign event and is now officially open for reservations, ready to welcome all guests coming to Copenhagen.
