Swedish fashion brand Acne Studios has officially opened its stunning new three-level flagship store in the elegant Aoyama district of Tokyo. This eye-catching retail space, designed in collaboration with the brand's creative director Jonny Johansson and Stockholm's architectural studio Halleroed, undoubtedly offers an immersive shopping experience. The design draws inspiration from Tokyo's unique urban fabric and Acne Studios' profound appreciation for Japanese culture.
Directly across from the new Aoyama store is the iconic Prada flagship location, where the shopping experience transforms into a sensory exploration. The space showcases a perfect blend of Acne Studios' distinctive rugged aesthetics and refined minimalism. The brand's signature pink granite is cleverly utilized on the walls, floors, and some furniture, creating a unique backdrop that enhances the overall atmosphere.
The design of this flagship store is all about creating an artistic curation atmosphere. The seating, designed by Max Lamb, combines woven textiles with glossy pink lacquer, resulting in a stunning contrast between softness and shine. Benoit Lalloz's lighting design adds a rhythmic ambiance to the entire space, while the sculptures by British artist Daniel Silver convey expressive artistic imagery.
To further enhance the artistic vibe within the store, Jonny Johansson has partnered with Japanese ceramic artist Takuro Kuwata. Kuwata's vibrant ceramic works are on display in the store, and he has specially created a limited-edition collaborative collection for this opening, providing a fresh interpretation of Acne Studios' classic pieces. The denim series is exclusively available at the Aoyama flagship store. This collaboration embodies the brand's vision of reshaping context and promoting dialogue through art.
This three-story flagship store will showcase the complete range of men's and women's clothing, accessories, bags, footwear, and eyewear from Acne Studios. This strategically timed opening further reinforces Tokyo's status as a key global market for the brand, clearly reflecting its unique creative vision.
