Now, the two brands officially join forces, seamlessly merging Oakley’s cutting-edge performance technology with Daily Paper’s distinctive street aesthetic.
This collaboration intertwines Oakley's performance-driven design with Daily Paper's culturally-centric storytelling approach. Notably, it arrives at a pivotal moment as Travis Scott steps into the role of creative director at Oakley, making the launch of this collaborative collection truly remarkable. Through the unique perspective of African Futurism, the collection reinterprets Oakley's classic Gascan frame, seamlessly blending innovative design with cultural roots, showcasing the founder of Daily Paper's continuous inspiration drawn from African heritage.
In the intricate detail design of the glasses, a unique matte frame is paired with a striking electric blue OakleyO logo, subtly accented by the Daily Paper logo etched into the lower left lens. All elements seamlessly integrate into a streamlined, high-coverage silhouette, ingeniously showcasing a perfect blend of two distinct styles. A brand representative stated that these glasses are designed specifically for pioneers who dare to Rewriting Style, Sports, and Identity Norms.
In this striking visual campaign, the brand has invited French football star Djibril Cissé to take center stage. Known for his unique style both on and off the pitch, Cissé undoubtedly embodies the spirit of this cross-industry collaboration.
The Daily Paper x Oakley Gascan collaboration will soon be available on the Daily Paper website and at select retailers worldwide, with a suggested retail price of €165.
