Glenn Martens led the Diesel Fall/Winter 2025 showcase at the recent Milan Fashion Week, reigniting the party spirit with deconstructed designs that showcased a collection of bolder, more decadent, and innovative garments.
This season, DIESEL boldly breaks its own boundaries, showcasing the unique charm of graffiti culture. Over three kilometers of graffiti fabric, crafted by around 7,000 professional and amateur graffiti artists, transform the runway into a poetic expression of street soul, allowing the audience to catch a glimpse of the art of fearless expression. Creative director Glenn Martens expressed his delight in witnessing global creators come together in the runway backdrop, emphasizing that this is not just a grand art project but also embodies the spirit of inclusivity that DIESEL passionately stands for.
DIESEL’s design elements, including denim, workwear, and craftsmanship, showcase a multiple collision through deconstruction and reassembly. The brand’s upgrade of classic silhouettes refreshes existing aesthetics. The minimally cut jacket ditches the collar, pairing innovative combinations of denim materials that perfectly blend fashion with functionality. Men’s unhemmed edge cuts combined with neoprene materials display a strong industrial vibe; while women’s tops with Basque cuts are paired with skinny jeans and a detachable denim skirt that ensures a redefined traditional proportion.
Throughout the entire collection, ultra-low waist designs are spread across skirts, trousers, and jeans, complemented by elastic waistbands that not only enhance the overall look but also create a striking visual contrast. Additionally, the experimental designs across the full range allow denim jackets and jeans to showcase a new coating technique while retaining the functionality of pockets. The sheer flocking technique combined with cable knit textures ingeniously simulates the deconstruction of garments, transforming the raw texture of denim into elegant dresses or strapless gowns, and even silver foil jackets and coats.
In terms of accessories, the Double D handbags feature a bouclé material that injects a fresh twist of smart elegance. The two unisex bags— the Flag-D relaxed shape tote and the Load-D oval bag— seamlessly blend the brand’s signature industrial design aesthetic. The men’s ankle boots come with a chunky rubber sole, while the slippers sport a vintage houndstooth pattern. The three-dimensional D logo on the kitten heels adds a rustic charm to the overall collection, while the twill soft fabric high heels showcase a unique beauty through their molded heels.
The newly launched Liquifie-D eyewear collection showcases a rich texture with its gradient-toned resin material, paired with a liquid hinge design that highlights the Oval D Logo. The latest watch creations, D-Curve, Wrap-D, and D-Rush, utilize three-dimensional surface technology to reshape the brand’s iconic Oval D Logo, marking the evolution of the brand’s identity from a flat image to a wearable sculpture.
