Dior has announced that Jonathan Anderson will take on the role of the eighth chief designer, leading the creative direction for women’s wear, men’s wear, and haute couture collections. This appointment is significant, making him the sole creative force driving Dior’s main collections, embodying the fundamental structure of the brand that has existed since Monsieur Dior.
Before this announcement was made, the creative team at Dior underwent a series of changes. Anderson has recently been appointed as the creative director for Dior Men, stepping in for Kim Jones; meanwhile, Maria Grazia Chiuri confirmed her departure from the women’s ready-to-wear and couture division following the recent Cruise 2026 show.
After the Dior menswear show led by Anderson, his first womenswear collection will debut at the upcoming Paris Fashion Week. Anderson expressed that it is a great honor for him to join Dior as the creative director for both menswear and womenswear, noting that the brand’s rich history and profound emotional resonance have always inspired him. He looks forward to creating a new chapter in collaboration with the brand’s legendary ateliers and sincerely thanks Delphine Arnault and Bernard Arnault for their ongoing trust and support.
Bernard Arnault, the chairman and CEO of LVMH, added that Jonathan Anderson is one of today’s most outstanding creative talents. His unique artistic language will be a significant asset as Dior embarks on a new chapter.
Delphine Arnault, the Chairwoman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, expressed her excitement about welcoming Jonathan Anderson to Dior, where he will oversee the brand’s menswear and womenswear creations. She has been closely following his creative journey within the LVMH group for over a decade and firmly believes that he will bring a fresh and contemporary creative vision, drawing inspiration from the rich history of Mr. Dior and the classic vocabulary he established. Anderson will collaborate closely with the brand’s exceptional team and ateliers to translate his creative ideas into reality.
