The brand new collaboration project, Issey Miyake x Apple, featuring the iPhone Pocket, has unexpectedly been unveiled, capturing the attention of numerous trend enthusiasts with its striking design.
The design inspiration for the iPhone Pocket comes from a piece of cloth, showcasing its unique aesthetics through a ribbed open structure that resonates with Issey Miyake's PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE collection. This bag is meticulously crafted in Japan, providing ample space not only to securely hold an iPhone but also to store other everyday essentials. The open design allows users to subtly glimpse the iPhone's screen when needed.
This product is designed to offer two ways to use it: the short strap can wrap around the wrist or be hung on a handbag, while the long strap can be worn on the shoulder or across the body. In terms of color, the short strap comes in up to eight vibrant options, and the long strap offers three color combinations, adding even more choices to the user's style.
The design director of MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO, Yoshiyuki Miyamae, stated that The design of the iPhone Pocket allows users to feel a deep connection with their iPhone while showcasing Apple's versatility in both aesthetics and practicality. This design aims to explore how users can enjoy the pleasure of wearing their iPhone in a way that reflects their personal style..
Molly Anderson, the Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple, also expressed her agreement, pointing out that Apple and Issey Miyake both emphasize the beauty of craftsmanship and simple joy in their designs, and this "extra pocket" perfectly embodies these ideals. Its unique silhouette allows you to elegantly carry your iPhone, AirPods, and other cherished items, letting users mix and match at their whim..
The iPhone Pocket is set to launch on November 14 at select Apple Stores and will also be available for purchase through the Apple online store. The short strap version is priced at US$149.95, while the long strap version costs US$229.95.
