Jun Takahashi recently launched the 2026 autumn/winter menswear collection for UNDERCOVER, using 100% KHAOTIQUE NOIR as the theme, continuing to explore and reimagine his past creative inspirations.
This season, Takahashi once again collaborates with Cindy Sherman, using the artist's cinematic stills to deepen the emotional tone of the collection. In contrast to the previous focus on deep color palettes, this season's designs elevate the overall mood of gloom and glamour by utilizing carefully selected fabrics from Japan and Italy.
The highlight of this collection lies in the upgraded outerwear and unique layered styling, featuring a luxurious silk quilted car coat and a chic flight jacket that beautifully blend practicality with elegance. Additionally, the range includes a selection of sharply designed black leather pieces, capturing the essence of opulence. Takahashi's penchant for avant-garde design is showcased in an innovative dual-layer structured bodysuit that can transform into various looks depending on how it’s worn. Furthermore, the collaboration with Gramicci introduces outdoor functional elements, particularly in the sleekly tailored long pants, which incorporate classic fastenings and striking zigzag stitching.
When it comes to color, the design is very restrained, dominated by deep black and charcoal gray, with occasional touches of tea-colored jacquard or subtle checks on knitted items. The multiple references and collaborations with various artists bring a deeper meaning to the collection. Cindy Sherman's imagery is not only featured on the clothing but extends to Vans sneakers, making them a highly coveted choice for brand enthusiasts.
