To carry on the legendary legacy of the 501®, Levi’s® Vintage Clothing has specially reissued the 1920s Lot 201 denim pant, pairing it with the classic Lot 213 jacket to faithfully recreate this cherished piece of denim history.
Lot 201 was first introduced in the 1890s as an accessible alternative to the iconic 501® (also known as No. 2), designed to cater to workers seeking high-quality denim on a budget. While Lot 201 carried over several of the innovative designs of the 501®, it featured a fabric Double Horse tag in place of the classic leather patch to reduce production costs. As the 501® successfully entered the global market post-World War II, Lot 201 gradually faded from the scene. However, its legacy holds a significant place in Levi’s® history, symbolizing the brand’s unwavering commitment to providing high-quality apparel for all economic classes.
To fully showcase the iconic combinations of the era, the LVC Original Vintage line team has faithfully recreated the Lot 213 jacket. This 1920s accessible counterpart works in harmony with the Type 1 jacket. Crafted from Japan's Shrink-To-Fit™ selvedge denim, it retains signature details such as the Double Horse fabric label and the black buttons used in the Lot 201 denim pants. The design also includes an adjustable strap on the back of the jacket and copper rivets, perfectly capturing the Roaring Twenties workwear aesthetic, creating a seamless fusion of historical and modern styles.
