Ralph Lauren has announced that it will continue its nearly 20-year partnership by designing the opening and closing ceremony uniforms for Team USA at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. Both outfits feature a color palette of red, white, and blue, with the opening look emphasizing tradition, while the closing look showcases a functional style that reflects a contemporary perspective.
The brand's Chief Branding and Innovation Officer, David Lauren, stated that their design philosophy revolves around expressing dreams and stories through clothing.This uniform perfectly blends classic and modern elements, showcasing the passionate American spirit and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.
The uniforms for the opening ceremony centered around an ivory wool duffle coat, featuring wooden toggle buttons, and were paired with a high-neck sweater adorned with the American flag, complemented by fitted trousers. The closing ceremony opted for a color-blocked puffer jacket, layered over a wool turtleneck sweater, and finished off with sporty white long pants, maintaining a casual yet athletic vibe.
In terms of accessories, both outfits are paired with red, white, and blue jacquard knit beanies and fingerless gloves, along with belts and brown suede alpine boots. Every piece is made in America, emphasizing a patriotic theme.
At the same time, to engage supporters watching from home, Ralph Lauren has launched an independent Team USA Collection featuring menswear, womenswear, and kids' clothing. This collection embraces a vibrant palette of red, white, and blue, adorned with striking patterns and patches, with military-style jackets standing out as a particular highlight of the design.
