Renowned sneaker custom designer ANT KAI has recently launched a new custom piece, this time taking inspiration from the Birkenstock Kyoto silhouette and cleverly reimagining it as the "Kuro Boro" version.
These special shoes are custom-made for Hollywood star Michael B. Jordan, marking a renewed collaboration between the two. ANT KAI has transformed the original suede upper into a patchwork fabric made of Japanese denim and textiles, incorporating Sashiko stitching techniques that add a wealth of intricate craftsmanship details. The overall design not only showcases a strong essence of traditional Japanese artistry but also effectively resonates with the nostalgic atmosphere of Kyoto, the ancient capital.
There hasn't been any news about mass production for this custom shoe yet, and ANT KAI has mentioned that there are still many exciting creations waiting for everyone to discover.
