HOKA has teamed up with the Australian professional cycling apparel brand MAAP to launch a brand new collaborative sneaker. This partnership not only showcases the outstanding advantages of performance running shoes but also incorporates cycling design concepts, reinterpreting the HOKA Tecton X2. The fresh design emphasizes the aesthetics of aerodynamics while seamlessly integrating MAAP's unique design details.
MAAP's Creative Director Misha Glisovic mentioned that the collaboration between the fashion industry and endurance sports is becoming increasingly frequent, reflecting the public's desire for outdoor activities and the trend of integrating sports into daily life. Meanwhile, Thomas Cykana, the Global Partnerships Director at HOKA, added that their team shares the same philosophy in their creative process, recognizing the innovative blend of art and science in today's running and cycling markets.
This pair of shoes features HOKA's renowned Tecton X2 outsole, incorporating a propulsion-oriented parallel carbon fiber plate for exceptional running performance. As for the color scheme, the upper is mainly in a neutral beige tone, accented with a striking Lime Soda hue that runs through the cushioned midsole and sleek overlays. Inside, there's a splash of turquoise, while the laces and heel pop with a vibrant lime green, complemented by a deep green outsole, creating an overall look that is both vivid and harmonious.
This time, HOKA has let MAAP take the lead in the design, showcasing the brand's distinctive characteristics beautifully. The shoelaces feature the MAAP logo woven into them, while the brand emblem is prominently displayed above the toe area and on the insoles. Additionally, there's a reflective strip positioned in the center of the shoe's outer side, cleverly responding to the high-performance details of MAAP's cycling apparel. This all highlights the stunning fusion of both brands.
The HOKA x MAAP Tecton X2 will soon be exclusively launched at MAAP's physical stores, followed by a release on the global platforms MAAP.cc and HOKA.com, priced at $230. In addition, MAAP plans to host a series of community experience events in specific locations in Melbourne, Los Angeles, and Berlin, aimed at allowing more people to feel the charm of this collaboration.
