Nike‘s latest release, the Air Max Dn8, brings groundbreaking design to the classic air-cushion series. The brand has invited emerging international designers and artists to collaborate on this project, blending diverse cultural perspectives to infuse the Air Max Dn8 with a fresh interpretation. This sneaker is not just functional footwear—it’s also a platform for sharing creative visuals and fostering cultural interaction.
Participating design brands in the project include MARRKNULL, the only invited brand from mainland China, renowned for its distinctive structural designs and bold boundary-breaking approach. This time, MARRKNULL presents four looks to showcase the new aesthetics of Air Max, redefining how to interpret sports trends through the language of fashion.

MARRKNULL merges fashion with performance art, transforming the Air Max Dn8 into a wellspring of creative inspiration through its signature asymmetric tailoring and layered construction. Each look highlights the impact of sneakers on body contours, movement, and visual language, making it particularly beloved by the younger generation.
One of the standout looks features a headpiece crafted from Air Max backpack elements, paired with a Nike windbreaker, tailored trousers, and a sleek bodysuit, embodying a sense of structural design and effortless athleticism. The Air Max Dn8, serving as the foundation of the entire ensemble, highlights the sharpness and harmony of the overall look.

Another outfit incorporates deconstructed sneaker components, reimagined as a corset and handbag, using MARRKNULL‘s signature contrasting techniques to reinterpret the Nike design language. The tongue of the shoe is pieced together as belt detailing, blending practical accessories with creative elements, preserving the brand’s identity while injecting a fresh twist.
Models also appeared dressed in full outfits stitched together from Nike sock elements, blending ruggedness with playful contrasts to create a striking visual impact. Anchored by the Air Max Dn8, these looks embodied the free-flowing spirit of sporty energy.

The final scene introduces a skateboarder, trailing several pairs of shoes lined up like little ducks, adding a playful and humorous touch. The red hanger-shaped handbag draws inspiration from the shoe color palette, bringing a whimsical yet stylish layered feel to the design. This injects the overall concept with a unique blend of fun and functionality.

The project also includes collaborations between MARRKNULL and other international designers, such as Christian Stone (Hong Kong), David Friend (New York), and Yii Ooi (Malaysia). These three designers bring their unique perspectives to showcase their creative energy. They infuse streetwear vibes, luxury elements, and cultural nuances into the Air Max Dn8, achieving a harmonious blend of cross-cultural aesthetics.

Nike has long established its iconic air cushion design through the Air Max series, and the Dn8 stands as a prime example of its next evolution, further expanding the brand’s value. Air Max Dn8, with its innovative design and diverse materials, not only reflects contemporary lifestyles but also serves as a trendsetting icon, inspiring the next generation of fashion creativity.
