Nike Pegasus 42 release: Nike this month expanded the Pegasus family with the road focused Nike Pegasus 42 and the off road oriented Nike ACG Pegasus Trail, aiming to deliver more rebound for daily training and stronger grip and protection for varied outdoor surfaces.

The headline feature of the Nike Pegasus 42 is the first use of a curved full length Air Zoom unit, which creates a smoother transition and more direct energy return. Since the Nike Pegasus 42 release, Nike has marketed the shoe as a balance of cushioning and road feel, designed to help runners maintain rhythm across a range of paces.

The upper has been refined with a roomier toe box and an enhanced forefoot cushioning stack to improve comfort on long runs. A zoned double layer mesh increases breathability in key areas while maintaining secure support and a lighter overall fit.

Long distance runner Wong Cheuk-ning (黃卓寧) said improving performance was a gradual process and that she focused on training rhythm while recovering from injury. She told reporters that wearing the Nike Pegasus 42 during tempo and long runs provided a smooth push forward and reliable support that helped stabilize her stride. The Nike Pegasus 42 release has been highlighted by coaches for that consistent feel in both interval work and endurance sessions.

Triathlete Wong Ji to (黃子圖) said the running leg often determines overall race outcomes, so training emphasizes pace control and steady output. He added that the Nike Pegasus 42 maintained consistent performance through high intensity workouts, helping athletes complete sessions and build race specific endurance.
The Nike ACG Pegasus Trail brings the Pegasus line into true trail territory. The outsole uses All Terrain Compound 2.0 rubber to improve grip on wet and irregular ground, increasing stability for both walking and running. The last has been reshaped to provide a wider forefoot and a more conforming footbed for extended outdoor use.

The trail model uses quick draining, breathable upper materials to help keep feet drier in damp or water crossing conditions. A rubber toe cap adds durability and reduces impact from rocks. The design aims to balance flexibility and support for a range of outdoor routes, and the new Jade Horizon color takes cues from white oak and bearberry hues to create a natural, rugged look that reflects the shoe’s outdoor focus.

Nike scheduled the Nike Pegasus 42 release for April 9, 2026. The shoe will retail for about HKD 949 for adults and HKD 699 for older youth, which is approximately US$121 for adults and approximately US$89 for older youth, before tax. The Nike ACG Pegasus Trail is due April 16, 2026, with a suggested price of about HKD 999, approximately US$128, before tax.
