PUMA has teamed up with emerging South Korean designer Jiyong Kim to launch their first collaborative collection, set to drop later this month. This partnership centers around PUMA's iconic V-S1 football boots, reinterpreting the classic sneaker through Jiyong Kim's unique deconstructed style.
Inspired by the leftover fabrics preserved by Jiyong Kim's studio over the years, the team chooses not to hide the marks left by time but rather embraces these natural changes as creative nourishment. Utilizing multilayer structures and custom materials, each pair of shoes boasts a unique style, showcasing different textures and qualities. The canvas shoe body, paired with exposed stitching and an unrefined design, emphasizes the material's richness, also drawing inspiration from the designer's frequently used Sun-Bleach sun-bleaching technique, allowing the fabric to evolve naturally in sunlight.
In terms of structural design, a new press-stud shoe tongue has been added to enhance support, paired with a custom Lycra insole. This series aims to showcase the beauty that develops with the wearer's daily life, launching in two colorways: a soft beige CRAFT DW and a subtle black CRAFT BLK.
To grandly promote this collection, PUMA and JiyongKim will be hosting a limited-time pop-up event at their flagship store in Seoul on February 28. The event will showcase the evolution from archival footwear to the final product, and give a sneak peek of JiyongKim's Spring/Summer 2026 collection.
The PUMA x Jiyong Kim V-S1 collection will officially launch on February 28 at PUMA, Jiyong Kim, and select retailers in South Korea, Japan, and China.
