Created through the renewed collaboration between Brioni and Lalique, the exquisite fragrance art piece Dualité, Crystal Edition Perfume made its dazzling debut at Milan’s Furniture Fair. This perfume is not only a celebration of Brioni’s 80th anniversary, but also a profound testament to the two brands’ relentless pursuit of craftsmanship and artistry. Limited to just 18 bottles worldwide, the design of the octagonal prism bottle pays homage to the brand’s storied history, drawing inspiration from Binary Opposition. It merges crisp geometric lines with warm, delicate light and shadow transitions, while the crystal structure inside resembles glacial formations, refracting a stunning array of brilliance. Holding 340ml of fragrance essence, the silver liquid shimmers against the crystalline body, exuding an air of mystery and allure.
The overall craftsmanship employs the Lost-wax casting technique, revived by Lalique. This ancient method dates back to 1893 and has been preserved by the Lalique workshop in Wingen-sur-Moder, located in the Alsace region of France. It allows the intricate details within the bottle to be flawlessly brought to life. The perfume bottle is paired with a pure white marble outer case, meticulously sculpted by artisans to reveal a translucent texture, resembling a piece of Roman sculpture. It beautifully combines both collectible and display-worthy value. Brioni’s Design Director Norbert Stumpfl describes this creation as a perfect convergence of multiple rare elements, embodying the brand’s unwavering dedication to the Slow Luxury philosophy.
The fragrance is personally crafted by perfumer Michel Almairac, beginning with an abstract ozone accord and the refreshing note of green apple, transitioning into a delicate blend of violet and ambroxan, and incorporating the rare orris butter refined over seven years. It concludes with cedarwood, moss, and dry amber, creating a richly layered olfactory experience. Each perfume bottle comes with the artisan’s signature and a unique serial number, merging rare ingredients with exquisite craftsmanship. Dualité, Crystal Edition Perfume is not just a fragrance but a museum-grade collectible art piece. Priced at €40,000, approximately HKD 368,000, it is tailored for the brand’s loyal devotees and art collectors.
