Meta is considering transforming Reels into a standalone app to enhance its competitiveness in the market, especially in facing challenges from TikTok. This new app will rely on Meta’s “Project Ray” and will offer video options up to three minutes long to improve user experience.
Recently, a U.S. appeals court required TikTok to address the issue of divesting its U.S. operations within nine months. There is consideration from the Chinese side to possibly hand over its operations to Elon Musk. However, TikTok has stated that it will not respond to this matter.
