Renowned for its maritime clocks, luxury watchmaker ARNOLD & SON has unveiled a new limited edition Perpetual Moon 41.5 Red Gold watch, limited to just 28 pieces, adding a stunning piece to its iconic perpetual moon phase collection. This timepiece draws inspiration from the cliffs of Cornwall, the hometown of founder John Arnold, transforming the gray tones of the English coastline washed in hazy sunlight into a PVD coating that adorns the dial. The hue is enhanced by the brand’s exclusive Stellar Rays texture, creating a rich visual tapestry filled with layers and dynamic light and shadow.

The exquisite design of the dial is truly remarkable, with the central large moon phase disc particularly eye-catching, crafted from hand-painted mother-of-pearl. The intricate details are further enhanced with a Super-LumiNova luminescent coating, ensuring visibility even in dim environments. Surrounding it, the hand-painted Big Dipper and Cassiopeia constellations also feature a luminescent coating, not only creating a genuine texture of the night sky but also paying homage to the brand’s rich maritime astronomical history, in tribute to John Arnold, who once supplied marine clocks to the British Royal Navy.
In terms of movement, the Perpetual Moon 41.5 is equipped with the brand’s in-house A&S1512 manual winding movement. It boasts two barrels, a frequency of 3 Hz, and a power reserve of up to 90 hours, ensuring a stable power output. What sets it apart is its incredibly precise moon phase display, which simulates an entire lunar cycle with an error of only about one day over a span of 122 years. The case back also features an auxiliary moon phase indicator, making it easy for the wearer to make accurate adjustments.

In terms of appearance, the case is crafted from 18K 5N rose gold, with a diameter of 41.5mm and a thickness of 11.30mm. It features a sapphire crystal face and back, providing a water resistance of 3 bar. The lugs are designed with elongated bevels, seamlessly connecting to a hand-stitched warm gray alligator leather strap, complemented by a rose gold pin buckle. The overall aesthetic exudes a refined elegance that beautifully merges contemporary style.
This new piece from Cliff Grey not only showcases the brand’s ability to interpret lunar phase imagery but also blends a deep exploration of navigation, astronomy, and the art of watchmaking. It’s another interpretation from ARNOLD & SON, striking a balance between history and innovation.
The suggested retail price in Switzerland is 37,000 Swiss francs (including VAT), and the price may be subject to adjustments.
