To celebrate its 250th anniversary, Breguet launched the new Classique Subscription 2025BH watch in Paris, paying tribute to its founder, Abraham-Louis Breguet, and the pocket watches he pioneered at the end of the 18th century. This latest creation embodies the minimalist philosophy of the original Subscription pocket watch, indicating time with a single hand, merging intricate mechanics with ultimate simplicity, and redefining the very essence of haute horlogerie.
The dial is crafted from white The Ming Dynasty fire enamel, featuring Breguet skeleton hands that have been hand-blued, slightly arched to create an elegant curvature. The inclined Arabic numeral hour markers and black minute track make reading the time crystal clear. Notably, the Subscription French text on the dial, along with the hidden Breguet signature, can only be seen under specific lighting conditions, showcasing the brand’s craftsmanship and rich heritage in subtle detail.

The watch features a diameter of 40mm and a thickness of 10.8mm, crafted from Breguet’s proprietary 18K Baume & Mercier Gold. This alloy, comprised of gold, silver, copper, and palladium, offers a warm hue and stable performance, giving the timepiece a refined satin finish. The curved lugs hug the wrist’s natural contours, complemented by a sapphire {“context”:”chevé”} curved crystal with anti-reflective coating, showcasing the brand’s dedication to comfort and visual harmony.

On the movement side, this piece is powered by the brand new manually wound VS00 caliber, crafted from gold-plated brass. It consists of 144 components and features 21 ruby bearings, with an operating frequency of 3 Hz, offering a remarkable power reserve of up to 96 hours. Equipped with Nivachron™ anti-magnetic balance spring and a double-layer Breguet balance spring, it significantly enhances magnetic resistance and timekeeping stability. The transparent case back showcases a laser-engraved pattern named The Clock Tower Quay, inspired by the watchmaking riverbanks of Paris, with a unique inscription of the caliber description in the handwritten style of Mr. Abraham-Louis Breguet.

Echoing the timepiece, the newly designed red leather watch box takes inspiration from the 18th-century Breguet pocket watch collection method. It features a blue silk lining that vertically stores the watches and is adorned with an individual serial number and a gold hot-stamped logo, further emphasizing its commemorative value. The watch is equipped with a navy blue large-scale crocodile leather strap, paired with a matching gold buckle, creating a seamless dialogue between classic and modern design.
The Classique Subscription 2025 watch isn’t just made for collectors; it embodies Breguet’s original intention and vision to expand the audience for high-end watchmaking aesthetics. The suggested retail price is HKD 383,600.
