G-SHOCK has officially teamed up with the Surfrider Foundation Japan, a Japanese environmental organization, to launch the new collaborative watch, the G-5600SFJ-9. This partnership is inspired by Surfing at Sunrise, incorporating the natural colors of the ocean at dawn while conveying the brand's steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability. Since 1995, CASIO has maintained a long-term partnership with the Surfrider Foundation, and this collaboration with the Japanese branch further strengthens the brand's sense of responsibility towards environmental issues.
The case and band of the G-5600SFJ-9 are crafted from bio-based resin, featuring a color palette that beautifully blends beige with sunlit yellow, creating a natural visual effect reminiscent of the flowing waves of the sea, as if the morning light is gently reflecting off the water's surface. Each timepiece boasts a unique texture that celebrates the beauty of nature. The front and back of the watch are stamped with the logo of the Japan Surfers Foundation, and the band is specially engraved with #OceanFriendly Lifestyle to encourage everyone to embrace a more ocean-friendly lifestyle. Additionally, the watch box is made from recyclable materials, showcasing a firm commitment from both parties to protect our planet.
As a member of the G-SHOCK classic series 5600, the G-5600SFJ-9 boasts a shock-resistant design and is water resistant up to 200 meters. This watch is also equipped with a Tough Solar power system, harnessing natural light to continuously generate energy, thereby reducing the need for battery replacements and promoting a low-carbon lifestyle. The G-SHOCK x Surfrider Foundation Japan G-5600SFJ-9 collaboration is priced at HK$1,380 and is now available at specialty stores, perfect for those with a passion for eco-friendly fashion.
