With the Lunar New Year vibes in full swing, the second day of the celebration brings exciting news from various brands. H. Moser & Cie. is unveiling a new chapter for its Streamliner series this year, introducing ceramic materials across the line for the very first time with the Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Ceramic. This isn’t just the first all-ceramic version in the series; it’s also the brand’s first fully ceramic tourbillon wristwatch—marking a significant step forward in material innovation.

Since its debut in 2020, the Streamliner series has quickly become one of H. Moser & Cie.’s core designs. This collection draws inspiration from the Streamliner Moderne style of the 1920s to 1930s, featuring striking lines, a pillow-shaped case, and an integrated bracelet that create a distinctive silhouette. Initially launched with a flyback chronograph, the series has gradually expanded to include various functionalities such as a central seconds hand, perpetual calendar, small seconds, tourbillon, and minute repeater tourbillon, evolving between stainless steel and gold materials with a clear and stable direction.

This latest piece features a 40mm carbon gray ceramic pillow-shaped case, complemented by a matching ceramic integrated bracelet that continues the series’ signature wavy link structure. Ceramic is known for being lightweight, hypoallergenic, and highly durable, offering excellent stability that withstands daily wear. The case is finished with a circular satin polish, while the bracelet showcases a vertical satin finish, detailed with polished edges that enhance the deep color, creating a striking depth in the light. The case has a thickness of 11mm, with the domed sapphire crystal measuring 12.8mm, and it comes with a screw-in crown, providing water resistance up to 120 meters, perfectly aligning with the luxury sports watch positioning.

The watch dial returns to the brand’s iconic fumé aesthetic. The red smoked grand feu enamel dial, built on a base of platinum, features a hand-hammered texture, followed by layers of enamel application and repeated firing, creating a rich gradient of deep red that intensifies from the center outward, offering a visually profound and vivid experience. The concept design continues to embrace minimalism, with no brand logo or hour markers on the dial; it retains only the hour and minute hands, embedded with Globolight luminescent material, directing attention naturally to the flying tourbillon at the 6 o’clock position.

The watch features the HMC 805 automatic movement, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of at least three days. This movement is equipped with an original dual hairspring system designed and manufactured by Precision Engineering AG, which corrects center displacement through the interaction of two hairsprings, enhancing stability and isochronism while reducing errors caused by friction. The movement utilizes a ratchet-style bidirectional winding structure, with an 18K red gold open-worked oscillating weight responsible for powering the mainspring. The bridge and main plate are treated with a carbon gray finish and adorned with Moser’s signature double stripe decoration, allowing a clear view of the overall structure and decorative details through the transparent case back. The Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Ceramic is part of the brand’s permanent collection, with a reference price of approximately CHF 89,000 (excluding tax).
