Hamilton teams up with acclaimed Japanese game developer Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions to launch a limited edition watch from the American classic series, the Boulton Death Stranding 2. This watch will not only make its appearance in “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach,” but it will also be released in a limited run of just 2,000 pieces. Hamilton has collaborated with Hollywood film crews numerous times, and this partnership with Kojima Productions merges the sci-fi futurism of the gaming world with real-world watchmaking craftsmanship, resulting in a highly collectible timepiece.

The watch design is personally crafted by Yoji Shinkawa, the artistic director of the island studio, based on Hamilton’s Boulton series, infused with a futuristic style. The case is made from a black PVD-coated titanium metal, which is both sturdy and 45% lighter than traditional stainless steel, enhancing wearing comfort. Its unique streamlined design echoes the apocalyptic sci-fi vibe of the game, while the seven-piece sapphire crystal enhances the watch’s ethereal, flowing light effects, further amplifying its visual impact. The black dial undergoes multiple processes, featuring minimalist gray hands paired with a vivid orange seconds hand, showcasing the future aesthetic found within the game.
The internal movement is also not to be overlooked, as the watch is equipped with a three-hand automatic movement featuring 25 jewel bearings, providing a remarkable 80 hours of power reserve for stable operation. Additionally, the watch includes a Nivachron™ balance spring, effectively resisting magnetic field influences and temperature changes, enhancing accuracy and durability. The titanium bracelet is treated with a black PVD coating, designed with three rows, and features a butterfly clasp, further enhancing the convenience of wearing and the overall aesthetic.

Hamilton has a deep connection with films, having provided exclusive watches for titles like Dune: Part Two, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and Interstellar. This collaboration with Hideo Kojima marks a significant step for the brand into the gaming realm. Kojima also noted that as early as the late 1960s, Hamilton designed watches for 2001: A Space Odyssey, and he is thrilled to bring the brand’s cinematic watchmaking experience into the gaming world.

The American Classic Series Boulton Death Stranding 2 limited edition watch features an engraved game logo on the back, along with special packaging and a co-branded cleaning cloth, providing a unique ownership experience for players and collectors. The watch will launch simultaneously with the game, allowing players to wear the futuristic feel of the game world on their wrists.
