HARRY WINSTON has launched the Ocean Tourbillon GMT Worldtimer watch, combining the brand’s strengths in high-end watchmaking and gemstone settings. As a key new piece in the Ocean collection, this watch not only continues the series’ signature sporty design but also establishes a strong and vivid visual hierarchy through its complex functions and extensive gemstone details.
The Ocean collection has always focused on designs suitable for everyday wear while maintaining the meticulous structure of high-end watchmaking. The new model features a 46mm 18K white gold case, approximately 15.5mm thick, delivering a sturdy yet streamlined profile. The case design employs an asymmetric layout, with three off-center dials positioned at different locations to create a distinctly layered time-display method, adding a dynamic rhythm to the overall appearance.

In terms of functionality, the watch combines a tourbillon with GMT world time capabilities. The local time is shown at the 3 o’clock position, while the 9 o’clock position features a second time zone display that can be set to home time, complete with a day-night indicator represented by a blue aventurine dial showing the passage of day and night. At the 6 o’clock position is a one-minute tourbillon device, visible through the skeleton design, making it a visual focal point of the watch.

The world time function supports displays for 24 cities, allowing users to quickly adjust the city disc via a side button on the case, making it convenient to switch between different time zones. The crown is primarily used to adjust the local time, with the overall operation design remaining clear and straightforward, even with the complexity of its functions.

The gemstone setting is the most recognizable aspect of this watch. The bezel and lugs are set with 66 elongated diamonds using invisible setting techniques, allowing the metal structure to be completely concealed and providing a continuous, pure gloss effect. Additionally, the sides of the case feature 78 elongated sapphires, creating an upper and lower tier structure with the diamonds, where the sapphires emit color from below when viewed from different angles, adding a three-dimensional depth to the visual effect.
The dial is also adorned with gemstones, using a total of 185 diamonds and 35 sapphires, complemented by a blue rhodium-finished baseplate to create a layered interplay of light and shadow. Each display dial is outlined with diamonds, and a black onyx scale ring is included to enhance readability. At the 12 o’clock position sits an emerald-cut sapphire, highlighting the brand’s commitment to fine gemstone cutting.

The movement of the watch is powered by the HW1005 automatic caliber, with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, featuring a silicon hairspring to enhance stability and resistance to interference. It boasts a power reserve of up to 110 hours, ensuring continued operation even after prolonged periods of not being worn. The transparent case back showcases the movement, adorned with Geneva waves, circular patterns, and hand-polished bevels, while the white gold rotor is finely finished, reflecting the brand’s high standards for movement decoration.
The overall gemstone usage amounts to 275 diamonds (approximately 11.95 carats) and 113 sapphires (approximately 9.28 carats), along with one emerald-cut sapphire, showcasing both quantity and quality. The watch is equipped with a blue alligator leather strap and an 18K white gold buckle, which is also set with 24 elongated diamonds, ensuring consistency from the case to minute details.
The HARRY WINSTON Ocean Tourbillon GMT Worldtimer watch is limited to just five pieces globally, striking a balance between complex functionality, gemstone craftsmanship, and structural design, providing the series with a more layered and recognizable piece.
