IWC Schaffhausen has taken inspiration from its Pilot’s Watch collection to launch the Pilot’s Watch TOP GUN Navy Squadron Chronograph 41 Miramar Special Edition. Along with it, a stainless steel variation in a matching color palette is also unveiled, adding further depth to the TOP GUN Naval Aviation Color Palette collection. In this release, the brand once again collaborates with color authority Pantone® to create a stunning new ceramic tone TOP GUN Miramar, inspired by the light blue T-shirt worn under flight instructor uniforms. This exciting color has been successfully extended from the ceramic material to the watch dial and rubber strap.

The ceramic model IW389409 is limited to just 1,000 pieces, featuring a light blue ceramic case, a matching dial, and a rubber strap. The blue hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® luminous paint, ensuring readability in both daylight and darkness. The production technique for ceramic is extremely demanding; IWC utilizes a mixture of zirconium oxide and various metal oxides, achieving this tone only after multiple sintering tests to ensure harmony between the strap and the dial materials, showcasing the brand’s breakthroughs in the application of high-end materials.
Another model, IW388117, features a stainless steel version with a 41mm stainless steel case. It’s equipped with the same blue rubber strap and dial, and for the first time, applies Pantone® colors in non-ceramic watches. The rhodium-plated hands also come with luminous coatings for enhanced visibility and are fitted with a transparent sapphire crystal case back, allowing you to appreciate the intricate details of the self-manufactured movement.

Both new creations are equipped with IWC’s self-developed 69000 series chronograph movements, specifically the 69380 and 69385 models. They feature hour, minute, and second chronograph functions, along with date and day displays, and incorporate a small seconds hand with a stop function. The column wheel design ensures more precise and smooth operation, while the bi-directional pawl winding system provides around 46 hours of power reserve. The ceramic version has a titanium case back engraved with the TOP GUN logo and is fitted with a soft iron inner case, effectively shielding the movement from magnetic interference.
IWC’s iconic EasX-CHANGE® quick-release system is now featured in two new models, allowing you to easily swap out the straps with just a press of a button, no tools required—perfect for mixing and matching styles in your everyday look. The ceramic version has a diameter of 41.9mm and a thickness of 15.5mm, while the stainless steel version measures 41mm in diameter and 14.5mm in thickness. Both are water-resistant up to 10 bars, making them suitable for everyday wear and even water activities.
IWC Schaffhausen has seamlessly transformed the spirit of aviation into its timepieces through a commitment to design and engineering excellence. The TOP GUN Miramar collection pays homage to the ethos of flight while showcasing the brand’s innovative approach to materials and precision watchmaking once again. These two new releases not only uphold the practicality of pilot watches but also create fresh visual layers through their vibrant colors and materials, making them standout choices for both collectors and everyday wear.
