Panerai is teaming up again with the Luna Rossa sailing team to unveil two brand new Luminor Luna Rossa timepieces for the 38th America’s Cup. This collaboration not only continues their long-standing connection within the maritime realm, but also pays tribute to the spirit of sailing through enhanced design and functionality.
The first new release, the Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01654, is limited to just 150 pieces. It features a lightweight 44mm titanium case that offers excellent corrosion resistance, showcasing the practicality that the Luminor series is known for. The dial sports a matte gray sandwich design, accented with red details and the Luna Rossa team emblem, and is enhanced with Super-LumiNova® X1 luminescent coating, ensuring visibility even in low-light conditions.
The internal mechanism is powered by the P.9100 automatic winding movement, featuring a flyback chronograph function and a nautical speed scale. There’s a striking red button at the 8 o’clock position that controls the flyback and zeroing functions, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and the clarity of the features.
The PAM01654 features a black and gray dual-material strap, adorned with the iconic red stripes of Luna Rossa, and comes with an additional black rubber strap. The overall setup boasts a water resistance of 100 meters and a power reserve of 3 days, with a suggested retail price of HK$120,100.
Another new creation, PAM01653, features a case crafted from AISI 316LVM – 1.4441 stainless steel, treated with vacuum arc remelting. This high-purity steel boasts exceptional corrosion resistance and a more uniform microstructure, enhancing both its polish and durability. The watch has a diameter of 44mm, complete with the iconic crown guard from the brand. It showcases a gray sandwich dial with minimalist hour markers, adorned at the 6 o’clock position with the Luna Rossa logo, and a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock. Subtle red details echo the fleet’s aesthetic.
The PAM01653 is equipped with the P.6000 manual wind movement, offering a three-day power reserve and a seconds reset function. It features a dual-material strap similar to the PAM01654, along with a rubber backup strap. With a water resistance of up to 100 meters, its suggested retail price is HK$50,600.
