Founded in 1860 in Florence, Panerai began as both a watch workshop and a manufacturer of professional instruments, establishing a long-term partnership with the Italian Royal Navy. In recent years, the brand has expanded Experience from just wearing the watches to actively participating with its Experience Edition program, allowing collectors to immerse themselves in the brand’s historical scenes. From the Submersible Chrono Marina Militare PAM01699 to the Radiomir 8 Giorni Eilean PAM01643 and the Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech PAM00961, each watch combines exclusive journeys that transform collecting into a hands-on experience.
The brand new Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience Set represents the most complete interpretation of this concept yet. The set includes two 47mm Radiomir models, PAM01729 and PAM01730, along with a four-day journey through Italy. Scheduled for September 2026, the trip will kick off in Florence, visiting historical sites of the brand and areas related to military and maritime history, culminating in a voyage along the stunning Ligurian coast. These timepieces transcend mere functionality; they serve as tickets to unlock historical narratives.

The PAM01729 features a 47 mm case, bezel, and crown crafted from brushed bronze. This bronze is composed of pure copper and pure tin alloy, which gradually develops a protective patina over time and depending on the wearing environment, giving each watch a unique color variation. The delicate, elongated lugs, the conical screw-down crown, and the domed PLEXIGLAS® crystal enhance the vintage proportions. The black textured California dial mixes Roman and Arabic numerals, complemented by a railway-style minute scale and stick hour markers. The beige Super-LumiNova® luminous coating emits a green glow in low light conditions, while the blued steel hands have a deep blue hue achieved through high-temperature oxidation.

In terms of the movement, the PAM01729 is equipped with the manual-winding P.3000 movement, featuring a diameter of 16½ lignes and a thickness of 5.3 millimeters. It boasts 21 jewels and a dual barrel, vibrating at 21,600 times per hour, offering a power reserve of 3 days. The movement’s structure pays homage to the early design philosophy of Panerai, and its operation is visible through the titanium framework and sapphire crystal transparent case back. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters, with a straightforward and pure display for hours and minutes.
Another PAM01730 showcases a more refined side. The 47mm case is crafted from Panerai Platinumtech™, which contains 95% pure platinum. This material boasts a hardness 85% greater than standard platinum, while maintaining the weight and texture that platinum is known for, making it about 33% heavier than 18K gold. The polished finish pairs effortlessly with the arched PLEXIGLAS® crystal and transparent case back, preserving the classic proportions of the Radiomir.

The dial features a black round brushed sandwich structure for the first time, showcasing a delicate radiating texture at its center. At the 12 o’clock position, the engraving of the matching Radiomir Panerai text is nearly invisible, echoing the understated qualities of early military watches. The blued steel hands and beige Super-LumiNova® luminescent hour markers maintain a consistent visual tone.
PAM01730 features a manual winding movement, the P.3001/10, with a thickness of 6.3 mm and 21 jewels, oscillating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. It also utilizes a dual barrel system, providing a power reserve of 3 days. The movement’s bridge is skeletonized and adorned with a pearled circular finish, enhancing its structural depth. The power reserve indicator is elegantly placed on the case back, keeping the front dial clean and minimalistic. It boasts a water resistance of 100 meters.
Both watches come with deep brown leather straps and trapezoidal buckles, beautifully placed in a bespoke mahogany display box. The entire Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience Set is limited to just 30 sets, which include an exclusive journey experience through Italian history, with the related itinerary not being sold separately.
