As Formula 1 races stir excitement around the globe, TAG Heuer once again honors the legendary driver Ayrton Senna with the launch of two brand new chronographs, adding a new chapter to their over 30-year partnership. This release not only marks the anniversary of TAG Heuer’s official partnership as the timing ally of F1, but it also comes right after the event in São Paulo, Brazil, underlining its significance.
The two new models are the Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna, available in a 44mm automatic version and a 43mm quartz limited edition. Both feature a black dial as the main highlight, accented with vibrant green and yellow tones to honor Senna’s Brazilian identity. They also retain several signature Senna elements, including the “SENNA” inscription on the bezel, custom packaging design, and engravings on the case back.
44mm: Automatic version, Calibre 16 movement, DLC titanium case with carbon fiber bezel.
As part of the larger offerings in the series, the 44mm model features the Calibre 16 automatic movement, complete with three chronograph sub-dials: a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds hand adorned with a striking yellow S logo at 9 o’clock, making it a captivating visual centerpiece.

The overall casing is crafted from grade 2 titanium with a sleek black DLC finish, making it lightweight yet durable, complemented by a carbon fiber speedometer bezel that enhances its sporty vibe. The yellow-painted crown and chronograph pushers draw further inspiration from Senna’s iconic color palette. The strap features vibrant yellow rubber with a black DLC pin buckle, boasting a water resistance of up to 200 meters. While this version is not limited edition, it certainly possesses significant collectible potential.

43mm: Quartz version, limited to 3,000 pieces, featuring an S-shaped stainless steel chain design.
In comparison, the 43mm model is equipped with a high-precision quartz chronograph movement, featuring a classic black dial highlighted with red and yellow details. The sub-dial placement differs from the 44mm version, reflecting a more minimalist design language. Its standout feature is the iconic S-shaped stainless steel bracelet from TAG Heuer — a design that was famously worn by Senna during his lifetime, carrying deep symbolic significance.

This watch crown and button are crafted from black DLC-coated stainless steel, clearly distinguishing it from the 44mm automatic model. Each piece comes with a specially engraved case back and exclusive packaging, limited to just 3,000 units, making it significantly more appealing at a friendly price point.

Since 1994, TAG Heuer has been releasing commemorative timepieces in honor of Senna, starting with the S/EL chronograph he was known to wear. The brand continues this collaboration through its innovative design language. The latest two releases highlight different wearing styles and movement options, paying tribute to Senna’s early McLaren red and white era while infusing elements that resonate with modern F1 aesthetics, such as black DLC treatment, carbon fiber bezels, and bold color contrasts. This reflects the brand’s commitment to evolving while staying true to its roots.
