At this year’s Watches and Wonders Haute Horlogerie Exhibition, Montblanc made its official debut with a booth themed around Montblanc Wooden Cabin, showcasing the brand’s philosophy of blending the spirit of exploration with watchmaking craftsmanship. This immersive booth recreated nostalgic scenes from the brand’s film, with glaciers and alpine landscapes serving as the core inspiration. Enhanced by lighting and sound effects alongside physical exhibits, visitors were provided with a full sensory experience of Montblanc’s innovations and breakthroughs in watchmaking. Among the highlights were various pieces from the brand-new Iced Sea 0 Oxygen series, including an updated 38mm version and an all-new retro-style 41mm stainless steel edition.

The Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen collection has captured attention since its debut, and this year introduces a 38mm size for the first time. This addition further diversifies the lineup, offering more options for those who prefer smaller case sizes. Staying true to the series’ design language inspired by glacial ice seas, the new models feature two fresh dial colors: pure white and light blue. Both dials are crafted using the gratté-boisé technique, a process involving more than 30 meticulous steps to layer ice crystal textures, creating rich luster and a multidimensional effect. The light blue version also incorporates a smoky gradient effect, lending a smooth and natural color transition that enhances depth and intricate details.

The watch case is crafted using Montblanc’s exclusive zero-oxygen technology, which completely eliminates oxygen inside the case during the sealing process. This effectively prevents fogging caused by temperature fluctuations and extends the lifespan of its internal components. While the technology itself is intangible, every watch comes with a certificate guaranteeing it has undergone successful oxygen-free treatment, making it ideal for use in extreme environments.
The 38mm timepiece is equipped with the Montblanc MB 24.17 automatic movement, offering approximately 38 hours of power reserve. It features central hour, minute, and second hands, along with a date window positioned at 3 o’clock. The entire collection is ISO 6425 dive watch certified, boasting a unidirectional rotating bezel and Super-LumiNova® luminescence for visibility in low light. Water-resistant up to approximately 300 meters, the case back is engraved with a diver and iceberg motif, crafted using 3D engraving technology to emphasize the connection between the collection and polar exploration.

In terms of accessories, the new watch offers options of a trapezoidal-designed stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap, both featuring a micro-adjustment system and quick-release mechanism for enhanced wearing convenience. The inner layer of the rubber strap is decorated with a glacier pattern, combining breathability with aesthetic appeal. The blue dial versions are designated as MB134023 (rubber strap) and MB134022 (stainless steel bracelet), while the white dial versions are MB134025 (rubber strap) and MB134024 (stainless steel bracelet). The suggested retail price ranges from HK$ 26,000 to HK$ 27,500.
A new 41mm Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen watch was also unveiled at the event. Crafted from aged stainless steel, it features a quartzite-brushed finish with a black coating, lending a weathered metallic charm that gives each timepiece a unique appearance. The black ceramic bezel has been treated with laser technology, with the 0-to-15-minute section slightly recessed to add a sense of depth and improve readability. The dial showcases a gradient gray glacier-inspired pattern, paired with white luminescent rhodium-plated hands and Arabic numeral markers, offering a richly textured aesthetic.

This model is also equipped with the MB 24.17 movement, offering a 38-hour power reserve, 300-meter water resistance, and diving watch specifications. The model number is MB134017, and it comes with a black rubber strap and a black double-fold clasp. The price is HK$ 32,900.
The Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen series not only stands as a tribute to the beauty of natural landscapes but also seamlessly blends cutting-edge technology and innovative design to meet the dual demands of modern users for reliability and unique style. Whether it’s the refined, lightweight 38mm design or the rugged aesthetic of the 41mm vintage stainless steel, each piece reflects the brand’s unwavering dedication to haute horology.
