Against the backdrop of five generations of heritage and a century of design, Silvia Venturini Fendi, the third-generation head of Fendi, has infused new meaning into the brand, choosing to “look towards the future” to celebrate this significant milestone. The Fendi Fall/Winter 2025 men’s and women’s collection blends elements of faux fur, leather, and intricate patchwork, presenting a visual feast bursting with editorial flair.
Silvia Venturini Fendi emphasizes that she doesn’t want to be fully immersed in the archives of the past. For her, Fendi’s centenary is more about her personal memories—whether real or imagined—regarding the brand’s history and its significance today. While keeping the playful spirit of Fendi alive, the brand is also striving to create a new platform for future generations to shape its future.
The show kicked off with classic, elegant silhouettes, featuring a cleverly styled faux mink coat worn as a dress, paired with contrasting satin open-toe heels that exuded a modern flair. Following that, a coated houndstooth dress was styled with a crossbody bag, showcasing exquisite attention to detail that truly surprised. In other looks, a wool coat impeccably paired with a fluffy baguette bag, creatively combined with a knitted cap and a netted top hat. The rounded and broad shoulder lines flowed seamlessly between pleated leather and patchwork tweed. As for signature accessories, the Peekaboo bag debuted in a plush new version, while the classic Spy Bag made a comeback, further solidifying its significant place in the brand’s iconic collection.
In menswear, partially deconstructed asymmetric tailcoat lapels paired with floor-length fur shawls bring Italian tailoring into a disruptive future context. Compared to the recent trend of monochromatic formalwear, this collection stands out with striking colors and a clash of materials, such as bright yellows, oranges, and layers of lace and embellishments, making the overall look more eye-catching. When formal suits seem overly serious, the models humorously pay tribute to the brand’s iconic family characters by holding massive Fendi plush dolls.
This century-old grand show was equally star-studded, featuring supermodels Karen Elson, Irina Shayk, Alex Consani, and Gabbriette on the runway. Front row guests included celebrities like Matt Bomer, Luca Guadagnino, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Sean Paul.
