At the recent Milan Design Week, The Row wowed audiences once again by unveiling its latest soft furnishings collection at the stylish Palazzo Belgioioso in the vibrant Quadrilatero district. This presentation perfectly embodied the brand’s signature understated elegance and the refined Olsen aesthetic, showcasing an array of handcrafted, monochromatic blankets and bedding made from premium-grade wool, offering an exquisitely luxurious texture.
This collection features blankets in beige, tan, and deep black, all crafted from the world's finest cashmere and handwoven in India. Additionally, there is a set of quilted bedding made from the same luxurious cashmere, with delicately hand-stitched small square patterns. According to Vogue, the cashmere is sourced from young lambs, with fibers measuring less than 14.5 microns in thickness, delivering an incredibly lightweight yet opulent texture. The brand's logo is designed in a minimal, discreet manner, appearing subtly on one corner of the blankets, making it nearly imperceptible.
The Row has always maintained an air of mystery, operating with a low-key and meticulous approach. Its appearance at the globally anticipated design week marks an unexpected strategic shift. To this day, the brand has no official Instagram or public promotions. Designers and twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have successfully positioned The Row as a leader in modern luxury, thanks to their masterful craftsmanship and understated elegance.
The collection continues to reflect the Olsen sisters' unconventional approach, steering clear of aggressive marketing tactics and product oversaturation, focusing instead on the meticulous refinement of every detail. While the exhibition also featured furniture pieces from Maison Baguès and Julian Schnabel, it remains uncertain whether The Row will venture into the realm of interior design in the future. It's foreseeable that this debut at Milan Design Week might just be the starting point for an entirely new home collection.
